Overview
These terms apply to the RockStart browser extension ("RockStart"), published by Pearkoder (Pvt) Ltd, Kegalle, Sri Lanka ("Pearkoder", "we", "us"). By installing or using RockStart you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use RockStart.
1. Using RockStart
- We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use RockStart in browsers you own or control.
- RockStart is free. It has no ads and no purchases.
- You must not copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute RockStart, except where the law allows it.
- You must not use RockStart to break the law.
2. Your bookmarks and your data
- RockStart shows your browser's real bookmarks and changes them when you tell it to: moving, renaming, editing, adding and deleting items in RockStart does the same in your browser. Deleting a folder deletes the bookmarks inside it.
- We cannot undo these changes or restore deleted bookmarks. Keep your own backup, for example by exporting your bookmarks from your browser.
- Your pins, tasks and settings are kept by your browser. If you use browser sync, how they are synced and stored is up to your browser vendor.
3. Third-party pictures
- Background pictures come from third parties (Microsoft Bing, Wikimedia, Unsplash contributors through Lorem Picsum, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art) or from an address or file you choose. They belong to their owners and are shown with credit where one is provided.
- Each picture carries its own licence. RockStart only shows pictures on your own new tab page. If you want to use one for anything else, check its licence at the link in the Appearance panel.
- Availability of these services isn't guaranteed and we may add, change or remove picture sources.
4. Privacy
How information is handled is described in the RockStart Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short, we collect nothing.
5. Ownership
- RockStart, its name, artwork, code and the Pearkoder name and logos are owned by Pearkoder.
- Third-party components keep their own licences.
6. Disclaimer
RockStart is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or compatibility with every browser or browser version. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pearkoder is not responsible for any damage or loss arising from your use of RockStart, including lost, changed or deleted bookmarks, lost tasks or settings, data loss, or any indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for RockStart, which is nothing.
8. Ending these terms
You can stop using RockStart at any time by removing it from your browser. We may end your licence if you breach these terms. Sections 5–9 continue to apply after the terms end.
9. Changes and contact
- We may update these terms. The new version will be published at this address with a new date, and continuing to use RockStart after that means you accept it.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without affecting the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
- Questions: see pearkoder.com.
